Hibernate Postcard 34 comes from Hybernation aka Stuart Bowditch who’s music is inspired by location and everyday life. Using site specific recordings to create rhythmic, melodic pieces to create something both abstract and accessible, Hybernation’s work crosses the boundaries of straightforward field recordings and electronica. A continuation of sorts from his Rural Colours release ‘Metal Studies’, ‘The Old Waterworks’ is comprised of several pieces, each using only one sound source to create jittery beats and thudding bass lines, all taken from everyday objects.

This is as good as the officially released WRNTDP titles on CIS. Very pleased to pick it up, where the pieces here are longer than most on the records they benefit from the slow unwinding they are afforded. The 18 minute live set excerpt is particularly immersive. Wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to release this on vinyl as a companion to the inevitable repressing of This Nation's Most Central Location. Great stuff. Oh and you get a cool magazine to read as well. Awesome. shaun rogan

I could listen to the first song on Mbira Locations for hours, worn wooden objects lapping against another equally giving surface, as soft kettle-like bells collide in the distance. Beautifully repetitive warm open spaces. Lost Tribe Sound
